Charlotte Community Library Policies
Code of Conduct
Charlotte Community Library strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our patrons to read, learn, participate in programs, and to enjoy all that the Library has to offer. In order to provide this, the Library Board of Trustees has developed the following library use guidelines to comply with all laws and to allow our patrons and staff to use the library in safety and comfort. Unattended Children's Policy
The Charlotte Community Library wants all our patrons, including children, to find the library warm, inviting, enjoyable and secure. To ensure their complete safety, children must be attended by a responsible party. Meeting Room (Spartan Room) Policy
The use of the Library for meetings is granted to individuals or community groups and organizations whose aims are cultural, educational, and/or for the civic betterment. In accordance with the Michigan Public Accommodation Act, this tax-supported facility may be used only by those groups whose membership is open to all without restriction based on race, sex, or religious creed.
The person applying for permission to hold a meeting in the Library shall be held responsible for conforming to the conditions set forth in this policy. Click here to view the Meeting Room (Spartan Room) policy.
Photography and Videotaping Policy
Photography and videotaping are generally permitted in the Library if for general Library promotion by the media, student projects, and/or strictly for personal use. To view the Photography and videotaping policy, To view the Photography and videotaping policy, click here.
Tobacco Policy
The Tobacco Policy prohibits the use of and/or smoking of tobacco, herbal products, or e-cigarettes is prohibited anywhere in the Library or its property including all outside areas of the library, including the lawn and parking lot. Click here to view the Tobacco policy..
Circulation Policy
This policy identifies how to register for one of the different types of cards patrons use at the Charlotte Community Library (CCL). Along with the registration, this policy describes how the cards are used and the consequences of misuse. Click here to view the Circulation policy.

Internet and Technology Use Policy
The Charlotte Community Library provides access to the internet and other technology to meet public information needs.
The purpose of this policy is to define the appropriate public use of technology resources at the Charlotte Community Library. This policy is to be used in conjunction with the library’s Code of Conduct, other library policies, and all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations. Parking Lot Policy

EV Charger Policy
The Charlotte Community Library provides a variety of services and programs, many which do incur costs to the library, but with no direct cost to the user. Library users may charge their electronic devices while in the building at no cost. Users also utilize Library computers, WiFi in and outside the building, or benefit from the Library’s notary service at no cost. Other services we do charge to help cover our cost, printing and faxing are example of those services. With the EV Charger the library strives to provide this service at minimal cost to the user, while mitigating our cost, and encouraging use by a variety of unique users.
Bulletin Board Policy
