Learn more about the Friends of the Charlotte Community Library

What is our purpose?

To foster closer relations between the Library and the community, to promote knowledge of the library, and support library services and resources.

What do we do?

The Friends of the Library supports the Library in many ways. We purchase books/Large Print books/DVDs/Audio Books/etc., supplies such as carts/scanners/bags, cover costs of presentations, speakers, and events, help with landscaping upkeep, add cupboards for storage space, paint restrooms, purchase rugs, re-pot plants, supply t-shirts for summer programming, and much more! Purchases are made through the proceeds from our book sale.

How are we funded?

The Friends of the Library generates revenue through an annual book sale held in October as well as membership fees and donations.

How can I get involved?

Anyone can join the Friends of the Library. Meetings are on the second Saturday of January, March, August, and November. The meeting in September is on the third Saturday. The date for our annual meeting in April depends on presentation availability. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the annual book sale, pick up recycling from the library, and help with various events throughout the year.
