Youth Programs
We offer youth programming year round for children and teens of all ages. Many programs require pre-registration to attend, so be sure to sign up in advance! For questions, comments, or concerns, see our Director of Youth Service’s contact information below.
Special Events

June 8th through August 8th
Unearth a story by participating in the Charlotte Community Library’s reading program for all ages. The program runs from June 8th throught August 8th.

Tuesdays at 11:00am at Oak Park - Starting June 16th!
Join the Library at Oak Park on Tuesdays at 11:00am throughtout the summer months for Summer in the Park! Each Tuesdays has its own theme and activities!
Tuesday, June 16th is the Summer Reading Kick-off Party – come celebrate the start of Summer Reading 2026! All ages are welcome to join us for yard games, crafts, and more. Afterwards, head back to the Library for more activities and to grab a snack from the food trucks, free of charge while supplies last.
There is no charge to attend these events and in case of bad weather, we will meet at the Library.

Friday, June 19th at 3:00pm
Join other kids and play Minecraft on the Library’s private server on the third Friday of the each month at 4:00pm! June and July date will be at 3:00pm! Laptops will be provided. For students entering grades 3 and up. Pre-registration is required!

Saturday, June 20th at 12:00pm
You are invited to a T-Rex Tea Party on Saturday, June 20th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Charlotte Community Library. Dress in your fanciest attire and join us for a tea-riffic time as we sip on tea and learn about dinosaurs! There will be activities, crafts, and light refreshments served. For ages 2-10 and siblings are welcome!

Wednesday, June 24th at 2:30pm
On Wednesday, June 24th at 2:30pm until 3:45pm is It’s Elementary – Fantastic Fossil Fun! Join us to learn what fossils are, how fossils are classified, and how paleontologists used fossils to learn about animals and habitats in the past. This program for students entering 3rd-6th grade. Pre-registration required!
Story Times
We offer weekly story times for babies, toddlers, and young children! See below for more information on each of these programs.

Monday, July 6th from 11:00am until 12:00pm
Bring your little one to the Library for a fun, informal playdate designed to build social skills, creativity, and early literacy through the power of play. A variety of age-appropriate toys and activities will be provided while caregivers have the chance to connect and socialize with other families.
This program takes place on the first Monday of each month from 11:00am until 12:00pm and is drop in program for children ages 0-5 years with their caregiver. Siblings welcome!

First and Third Wednesday of the Month at 11:00am
A drop-in family story time for all ages featuring themed stories, songs, rhymes, and more! This program will meets every first and third Wednesday from 11:00am until 12:00pm at a NEW LOCATION: Trenton Shrontz Memorial Park (310 N. Main St., Olivet, Mi)

Thursdays from 10:00am until 10:45am
Baby and Me will resume on Thursday, June 11 at 10:00am.
A lap-sit story time for babies and toddlers with their adult caregivers every Thursdays of each month at 10:00am! Rhymes, songs, cuddles, and play are all included. Older siblings are welcome to attend. No pre-registration is required for this program.

Fridays from 11:00am until 12:00pm
Toddler Time will resume on Friday, June 19th at 11:00am.
Join us on Fridays from 11:00am until 12:00pm for stories, songs, movement and play for children ages 18 – 36 months with their caregivers at Toddler Time. A drop-in family story time.
Craft Clubs
Our craft clubs take place on the first and last Friday of each month. Craft Club is available for students in grades 4 through 12. Craft Club Jr is availble for students in grades 1 through 3. Space and supplies are limited so pre-registration is required. Call 517-543-8859 or stop by the library to pre-register.

Friday, May 8th from 4:15pm until 5:15pm
Kindergarten Craft Club is on the second Fridays of the month from 4:15pm until 5:15pm. On Friday, May 8th participants with craft a tissue paper vase with flowers. For students in Kindergarten. Pre-registration is required!

Friday, June 26th at 4:00pm
Craft Club takes place on the last Friday of each month from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Available for students entering grades 4th through 12th. This month participants will be crafting a recycled cardboard dinosaurs. Pre-registration is required!


Here comes spring! March along with Mama and Baby Bunny as they welcome a festive parade of budding flowers and blossoming trees,
new birds, butterflies and bees, and all of their beloved friends, emerging from the winter season.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Challenge yourself and your child to read 1000 books before they begin Kindergarten! Every 100 books you read together earns them a sticker and a free book.
