Youth Programs
We offer youth programming year round for children and teens of all ages. Many programs require pre-registration to attend, so be sure to sign up in advance! For questions, comments, or concerns, see our Director of Youth Service’s contact information below.
Special Events

Fridays 10:00 - 10:30am at AL!VE - Begins April 17
Stories & Stretches at AL!VE is a basic introduction to children’s yoga. On Fridays from 10:00am until 10:30am beginning April 17 through May 22, this program develops early literacy and social-emotional skills by engaging with books through yoga-inspired poses, shapes, and stretches. This is a drop in program for children ages 2 to 6 at AL!VE.

Friday, May 15th at 4:00pm
Join other kids and play Minecraft on the Library’s private server on the third Friday of the each month at 4:00pm! Laptops will be provided. For kids in grades 3 and up. Pre-registration is required!

June 8th through August 8th
Unearth a story by participating in the Charlotte Community Library’s reading program for all ages. The program runs from June 8th throught August 8th.

Tuesdays at 11:00am beginning June 16th at Oak Park!
Join the Library at Oak Park on Tuesdays at 11:00am throughtout the summer for Summer in the Park! Each Tuesdays has its own theme and activities! There is no charge to attend these events and in case of bad weather, we will meet at the Library.
Story Times
We offer weekly story times for babies, toddlers, and young children! See below for more information on each of these programs.

Monday, May 4th from 11:00am until 12:00pm
Bring your little one to the Library for a fun, informal playdate designed to build social skills, creativity, and early literacy through the power of play. A variety of age-appropriate toys and activities will be provided while caregivers have the chance to connect and socialize with other families.
This program takes place on the first Monday of each month from 11:00am until 12:00pm and is drop in program for children ages 0-5 years with their caregiver. Siblings welcome!

First and Third Wednesday of the Month at 11:00am
A drop-in family story time for all ages featuring themed stories, songs, rhymes, and more! This program will meets every first and third Wednesday from 11:00am until 12:00pm at a NEW LOCATION: Burrage Library in the Insurance Room (333 S. Main St., Olivet, Mi)
Craft Clubs
Our craft clubs take place on the first and last Friday of each month. Craft Club is available for students in grades 4 through 12. Craft Club Jr is availble for students in grades 1 through 3. Space and supplies are limited so pre-registration is required. Call 517-543-8859 or stop by the library to pre-register.

Friday, May 1st from 4:15pm until 5:15pm
Craft Club Jr. is on Friday, May 1st from 4:15pm until 5:15pm. For students in grades first (1st) through third (3rd). Participants will craft a pinecone dinosaur. Pre-registration is required!

Friday, May 8th from 4:15pm until 5:15pm
Kindergarten Craft Club is on the second Fridays of the month from 4:15pm until 5:15pm. On Friday, May 8th participants with craft a tissue paper vase with flowers. For students in Kindergarten. Pre-registration is required!

Friday, May 29th from 4:00pm until 5:00pm
Craft Club takes place on the last Friday of each month from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Available for students in grades 4th through 12th. Participants will craft a watercolor paper collage at this months Craft Club. Pre-registration is required!


Here comes spring! March along with Mama and Baby Bunny as they welcome a festive parade of budding flowers and blossoming trees,
new birds, butterflies and bees, and all of their beloved friends, emerging from the winter season.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Challenge yourself and your child to read 1000 books before they begin Kindergarten! Every 100 books you read together earns them a sticker and a free book.
